APPLYING TO COLLEGES RESOURCES
This is a collection of more than a thousand links to articles that touch on nearly every part of the search for the right college, getting admitted there, making the most of it when you’re there, and financing your time there. There are also sections that can help you see how various sources rank colleges and what your outcome may be depending on what college you go to and what kind of major you choose once there.
With the exception of the “Dr. Weed’s writings” section, all of which pieces are by me and available at no cost, none of the articles in the other sections are by me. Most of the articles I’ve collected should be free to access. A few may require a paid subscription to read. If a paid subscription is required, I have tried to mark those links with “Possible Paywall.” If you don’t have access to those pieces yourself, your local public library or school may have paid for access to at least some of those publications. I will highlight one interesting article from each sub-page once a month on my Instagram and LinkedIn feeds. I encourage following me there to see which articles I’ve found most interesting each month.
I hope you find these resources useful. If you have an article you would like me to include, please contact me and I’ll consider adding it. If I do post it, I would ask you to make sure to let others know about this resource and also about my work to help students get into college and health professions school.
This page is a collection of my writings, most of which are about either questions you should ask yourself as you select the colleges you want to apply to or, in the case of my “Congratulations!” blog, the things you can do to give yourself the best chance of succeeding in those essential early months on campus.
